The Florida Gators completed their SEC schedule last weekend with a 24-14 win at South Carolina and now step away from league play to host Florida Atlantic on Saturday at the Swamp.  Kick-off at Ben Hill Griffin is once again scheduled for 12:00 p.m. with coverage of the game airing on the SEC Network.  The Baltimore Gator Club will host its weekly watch party at the Greene Turtle in McHenry Row for the game, so come on down and join the other Charm City Gators watch as the Gators play host to the Owls.

Florida (9-1, 7-1 SEC) ran out to a 17-0 lead against USC, withstood a late comeback, and then put the game away with a Kelvin Taylor touchdown  for the 24-14 road victory.  The win closed out a perfect division record for the Gators and moved them up to No. 8 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

Sophomore quarterback Treon Harris passed for 256 yards and a touchdown, but was picked off twice in the victory.  The running game was stymied for much of the ballgame until Taylor broke off a 53-yard run that all but put the game away.  The junior tailback finished with 105 yards for the game after plunging in from one yard to provide the final score.

FAU (2-8, 2-5 Conference USA) has lost five of its last six games after last week’s 24-17 setback against Middle Tennessee State.  The Owls have struggled this year offensively, averaging just 22.0 points per game.  Jason Driskel, younger brother of former Gator QB Jeff Driskell, has taken snaps for FAU lately, connecting for just 51% of his passes while tossing three touchdowns and four interceptions.

Florida and FAU have played just twice in football with the Gators claiming victory in both contests.
