The Charm City Gators will once again host two viewing parties this weekend at Porters of Federal Hill and The Stained Glass Pub in Elkridge, Md. as UF heads north to take on Kentucky in an SEC showdown.  Kick-off at Commonwealth Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.  Free Gator “swag” will be provided at the Stained Glass Pub in Elkridge.

The Orange and Blue is coming off of an impressive 31-17 victory over Tennessee in which backup quarterback Tyler Murphy took the reins for the mighty Gators and led the squad to a comeback win at the Swamp.

UF now sits at 2-1 (1-0 SEC) on the year, but the win over the Vols, Florida’s ninth straight, starts the Gators’ SEC slate with a W.  In addition to throwing for 134 yards in relief of Jeff Driskel, Murphy ran for 84 yards and a score against UT with Mack Brown adding 86 yards and a touchdown.  The Gator defense lived up to its billing in the SEC showdown, intercepting four UT passes and forcing two fumbles.

Kentucky (1-2, 0-0 SEC) had the week off this past weekend after falling at home to in-state rival Louisville, 27-13, on Sept. 14.  The Wildcats earned their first win for first-year head coach Mike Stoops in week two, downing Miami (OH) 41-7.  UK has used a balanced attack this season under Stoops, averaging 213.3 yards on the ground and 181.3 yards through the air.

This weekend we have the privilege of hosting Scott Francis, the UF Alumni Association Director of Broaden Gator Engagement. He is in town to meet with the board as well as answer YOUR questions about everything Gator Club. All Baltimore Gator Club members are invited and encouraged to arrive early at the Elkridge location to meet and ask questions of first board members and Scott.

As we continue this exciting time for the Charm City Gators, remember to check out the club website for all announcements, events, and board member bios!
